Title: Christmas in june
Post by: Rx7man on June 23, 2016, 03:58:33 PM
Well, I placed an order for some more go-fast parts from DAP..
Injectors (5x012 SAC 155*)
Delivery valves ("towing")
Delivery valve tool
AFC springs
Tork tek adjustable OFV.

And for all the trucks I work on, I figured I might as well get some "stock"
3 sets of 3/4 K gov springs (I want to try the 4K, if they're tame enough at 1200 RPM i'll keep them)
bunch of delivery valve and injector O rings, gaskets, and knicknacks
An extra boost elbow

I've had nothing but hell with my 4ks.

I think the pump is just not right, can't keep stready rpms around 1200. Cutting the place holders at least gave me control off idle up to 1200. But now I can't get past 3500 lol.

Let me know how you like the dvs. I've got a set of 5x12s and honestly with my #0 plate maxed I feel like it's too smokey already.

Seems like there are different flavors of 4K springs.. I know what you mean about the 1200 RPM surge, I notice it (especially cold) with my 3200's

The ones I'm getting are 3/4 k springs, where you install the inner spring for the 4K version, if the inners and outers don't come on at exactly the same time, that should help with smoothing it out...

I went conservative on the DV's, I'll see how the 5x12's are.. considering i'm running totally clean at the top end I know I need some more fuel (that's with no fuel plate and shimmed plug).  I'm also getting AFC springs, and the overflow valve, all of which should help
For smoke, I think I have a bit of an edge on you since I have a cam and ported head

Reason I bit the bullet and am doing it now is there's going to be a 1/8th mile drag event in town at the end of july...

With the NV4500 I know I'm going to lose a lot of time shifting... you think I'll be under 10 seconds?

haaha, will have to adjust the AFC and perhaps put the fuel plate back in (I got AFC springs too).  I didn't notice any faster spooling, or torque at the bottom end, but it does come on a little more violently when the AFC kicks in
