You would be really really surprised how much a wire wheel can take off that oxidation. A full rebuild kit for these turbos minus the thrust bearing is 45$....

the "stage 1 2 10000000" turbos are just a machined out turbo.  The actuator is still the same so the control methods will be the same.

Hakcenter,

i also worried about the corrosion inside the housings as well.  they were sitting out in the elements for a while in a rainy area too.

the wire wheel and rebuild kit may still be worth a chance.

should i try to apply the 12v to the actuator assembled or disassembled?

Either way, shouldn't matter. Just try not to hit the can bus with 12v :)

Yes, the lil'bb will be able to control them, might require a few adjustments for response if they've been drastically modified.

Mine had 100,000 kms on it when I got it, put 30K more on it, works perfectly

oops, there was a second page
Yeah, I'd give it power and see what it does.. and agreed, wire wheel it, if there's a lot of corrosion inside the housings perhaps media blasting it with walnut shell would clean it up.. what do you have to lose at this point???

i hear ya...i'll do my best.  also thinking of dipping the exhaust housing into some muratic acid to remove the corrosion and other stuff i can't really see inside.

the compressor is a different story.  not sure anyone around here (Maui) has walnut as blast media...but will start asking around.

thanks for the tips guys!!

scotch brite and steel wool will do, just will take a little more time
