This could get interesting...

I already see the "Holset VGT control" being outdated.. it'll need "And more..."

I don't have a VGT, so I'm not going to be of a whole lot of use on the specifics (I am looking for one though)

I have lots of ideas for this :)

Here.. for the PWM drivers, you should seriously consider using the LM1949 chip
LM1949N Datasheet(PDF) - National Semiconductor
Most likely powering something like a 2n6045
2N6044 pdf, 2N6044 description, 2N6044 datasheets, 2N6044 view ::: ALLDATASHEET  :::

I'm going to spend a little money and get some parts together so I can try some of this out.. I have VS2012, but it doesn't seem to let me create a project of this type.. don't know why yet.. I'd love to play with this a little too and get into C style coding again.. it's been 20 years and I've only done VB.net for my projects

I know right?? I think there is plenty of room for an idea like this and much more

Did you take a peek at that LM1494?  Needs a big, low resistance shunt resistor and a cap, but it's a pretty straight-forward way to limit heat in injectors, etc..

Oh, yeah.. need a methanol/propane/nitrous controller too :>

I haven't looked at it yet, I really hadn't thought of designing an output shield

I have a Holley Commander 950, which drives both high or low impedence injectors with this.. the high impedence injectors don't have the current draw to require it, but the low impedence ones would burn up in short order.. I think they're only like a couple ohm.

I purchased a separate PWM shield for outputs (16 of them)  should I need it.. I think because I'd handle heavy loads on this, I'd consider making it a breakout box, and perhaps incorporating the voltage dividers needed for any sensors on it.. At this point it's just thinking out loud

Hi.  I just want to find one of these turbos at a decent price and put one on my DSM and go fast.

Well.. I got my order in on SparkFun.. $250 later, but I consider that 'cheap entertainment'.. I didn't end up getting the CAN bus shield, as I really have no use for it at this point.

completely unrelated to automotive stuff though, I'd like to be able to get my computer (or an arduino) to be able to talk to an Allen Bradley Powerflex 40 VFD.. I think it runs over DH+ or Rs485, I'd have to check the documentation to be certain.. it would just be really cool to be able to control a high power motor, possibly even with a encoder...
Keep dreaming of the possibilities right?

Arduino's almost have no limitations...

I was looking at the NetDuinos as well, they seemed to have somewhat better processor capability.. I was wondering about the intercompatibility of the programming side of it...

Yes, I've been waiting for years for something like the Arduino, and well, when i started hearing about it I didn't check to see what it was.. it just sounded like some gadgetry that blinked lights and told you when your wife opened the fridge... Until I heard of you and the other CTD members talking about it and followed up on it.. Hence the reason I ordered 3 different ones!
