just blew my clutch and good.. barely made it home.. got some steep hills on the way, it was 1st gear low range to get up them... Thankfully i already have the new clutch to put in, but will be doing the nv5600 swap at the same time, and I think my transfer case chain is on the fritz as well
Guess what my project is over the next little while!
So much powah
Yeah, wondering what I'll find blown up in there when I take it apart.. it got seriously hot
Well.. here's the shrapnel

Well there's your problem...there's supposed to be a clutch surface there ;D
I don't know if you noticed, but you're missing some material near the wear areas of your clutch disc
Should I scrape all the fluff that's behind the flywheel and maybe JB weld it back on?
I was thinking maybe some duct tape and you're good to go ?
Just got the 6 speed in.. still have all the finishing work to do.. dang that thing is a heavy beast!
Thought I ought to update this.. 6 speed is in.. 2nd and 6th gear synchros are a little weak but it works well otherwise... I gotta get around to doing a writeup on CF about it... truck has no trouble starting off in 3rd now.. really gotta get those 3.55's!!!
Meanwhile I think my driveshaft length was a smidge long.. donor truck is the same wheelbase and I used that driveshaft.. Only difference between the two is I have the HD transfer case which is like 3/8th" longer.. I think I popped the C clip in the transfer case and it's not coming out of 4x4 now... Joy joy, I get to take that damned thing out again, and then shorten the driveshaft a little.
Also still got oil leaks from hell, can't figure where they're coming from... steering box is one of them I think but engine is leaking too somewhere by the back.. I think it's the pan gasket
It just never ends!
