a lot of the new rams have some sort of canbus system that watches the lights for being burnt out.
The LED's don't have enough resistance to fool the system into thinking the lights are on, so you get errors on the dash.
I see... I wonder how the connections work.. bulbs shown seem to only have 2 poles, which would be power, what about comms?
I think the canbus system just watches resistence on the wires, I dont think it actually talks to the bulbs
OK.. so they basically have a heater in them to fool the CAN bus... there's some good engineering!
